Trevin Giles Isn’t Worried About His Social Media Presence

July 25, 2016 | Posted by Joseph Lee

In an interview with MMA Junkie, Trevin Giles (6-0) said that he’s more concerned with finishing his fights than he is his use of social media to promote fights. He will fight Josh Clark (9-2) at RFA 41 this Friday at the Cowboys Dancehall in San Antonio, Texas. He’ll then move on to fight Isaac Villanueva (11-7) at Legacy FC 59 on September 16 at the Arena Theater in Houston. Here are highlights:

On promoting his fights on social media: “More than anything I just look at film. I’m not too worried about what people are saying or what is being posted. I don’t like to get tied into that. I like to stay with the technical part of fighting. I don’t do much (social media). My girlfriend gets on it and she’s like my spy. But me, myself? No, not really.”

On wanting to finish his fights: “To me, I think any victory is sweet, no matter how it comes. Of course, I would like to finish it early. That’s really out of respect for my opponents because I don’t want to give anybody more time for an opportunity to beat me than I have to. So, I really try to be on my game and catch them making that mistake. To just finish the fight and leave out healthy.
