Buff Bagwell recently appeared on Chael Sonnen’s podcast where he spoke about working as a gigolo, hanging out with Scott Steiner and more. Here are highlights:

On hanging out with Scott Steiner: “Oh dude, it really was [crazy]. Scotty, me and Scotty just really clicked. It was a real good, fun time. And we’d do, every town we got to, bro, we just thought of, ‘what can we do that is completely, 1,000% against the grain?’ And whatever was against the grain fully, we did. We’d literally do things that [were] so against the grain that it was A) funny, B) entertaining, C) nobody else really would do it. I had Scotty as a backup and nobody’s going to say anything to Scotty, so we were good.”

On having a swagger in WCW: “Oh brother, I walked a whole different walk when I had Scotty. I mean, I had a whole different swagger. I mean, I was [with] Scott Steiner, but the problem is, then the boys get involved. And I got into shape. Keep in mind, everybody knows Scott Steiner had the best body of all time, but I was able to stand beside him a little bit, no doubt about it. I was Buff Bagwell and looked pretty good. I was at least able to stand beside him a little bit. Of course, the boys, they stirred that up and got us against each other somehow. I couldn’t believe. I said, ‘Scotty, are you going to let this happen, dude?’ So the boys actually tore up me and Scotty to a point I went from having the swagger of Scotty to it’s me and him facing off.”

On working as a gigolo: “I absolutely was [a gigolo]. Dude, it was actually pretty wild. I was a gigolo for a night. No, no, no, no, I’m on [Garren James’ male escort] website still because I signed a piece of paper, of course. Like I said, I was broke and I signed a piece of paper that allowed him the rights to put me on his website. And it’s crazy. $400 an hour, $3,000 for the night, $10,000 for the weekend, and I’ve done one of those and that was when me and my wife were broke up, so I got $8,000 to go to Paris [France].”

On his wife getting him on the show: “I had a car wreck in 2012 that was really bad. I had to be put in a self-induced coma, and this is April 23, 2012, which, by the way, is exactly 14 years off from me breaking my neck on live TV. I broke it again, the exact same day 14 years later in this car wreck.” Bagwell added, “the rumor got out from the internet was that he’s dead, he’s retired, and, brother, the phone quit ringing and I went broke fast. Judy, my wife, she’s trying to figure things out with me, of course, and she goes, ‘I think I figured it out.’ My wife finds it. She says, ‘there’s this thing called Gigolos on TV, and I think you’d be perfect for it.’ Now, she didn’t know or watch an episode of it though. We were broke, we were scrambling, we were digging. My manager, I call him up, he goes, ‘oh my God, that’s a great idea!’ One phone call and the red carpet comes out.”

On not having sex on the show: “I was in season five and it was the last episode of season five and it was the highest rated show they’ve ever had ever. But that was the good news. The bad news is I’m on tape doing everything you can do with a woman. I really, I’m not sure if I can say this or not, but there was nothing happening, to say it nicely. There was nothing happening down there. Couldn’t make it happen. I was trying because I thought I was supposed to. Nobody told me any different. Cameras are everywhere. I choke. Lets just say I stayed in real close, so you couldn’t see anything.”
