UPDATEDx4: Matt Riddle and Attorney Issue Statement On Sexual Assault Allegations

4TH UPDATE: Daniel J. Rose, the attorney of Matt Riddle, has issued a brief statement denying the recent allegations of sexual assault. He also accuses the woman who sent out the tweets of stalking Riddle over the course of two years.

The statement reads: “The allegations by this independent female performer are completely false and another attempt to harass and humiliate Mr. and Mrs. Riddle and to try to tarnish their reputation in the community. We have been aware for the last two years of this performer stalking the Riddle family. In 2019, our firm drafted a pleading against this performer to seek an injunction for cyberstalking in the Circuit Court of Orange County, Florida.”

It should also be noted that Riddle’s debut on Smackdown has been re-added to the preview on WWE.com.

3RD UPDATE: In light of the accusations against Matt Riddle, it appears WWE has removed him from the WWE.com preview for tonight’s Smackdown. He had been set to debut and was listed among the events happening, but is no longer featured. There is, however, still a video promoting his debut on the Smackdown page. The only events now listed in the preview include AJ Styles’ championship celebration ceremony, Bray Wyatt’s return and Mandy Rose on MizTV.

2ND UPDATE: Cindy Cartwright, the woman accusing Matt Riddle of sexual assault, has posted new screenshots showing that she and Riddle were together a year ago and that his wife knew about it. She has denied alleged claims from Riddle (made in screenshots fans claim they took of DM conversations with him) in which he denied the assault and said she has been stalking him for years.

UPDATED: CBS Sports reporter Adam Silverstein revealed that WWE has issued a statement on the recent sexual assault accusations against Matt Riddle.

Original: Wrestlers are being accused of sexual assault in the past couple of days after several women accused David Starr of rape. In addition to Starr, other alleged perpetrators include Ligero, Jordan Devlin, Joe Coffey and others. The latest name to come up is Matt Riddle, as a woman has directly accused him of forcing her to perform oral sex, after he choked her. Riddle is set to make his debut on Friday Night Smackdown on FOX tonight.

When I refused (although we had previously been together I was incredibly uncomfortable in that setting ) When I said no, he grabbed me by my throat, choked me and said “what if I just made you?” I ended up giving him oral sex (praying someone wouldn’t wake up) to get out of having intercourse with him. It was incredibly humiliating. It is never ok to put your hands on a woman, it’s also not ok to not listen when she says no.”
