WWE Smackdown Rating Spikes, Audience Hits 2.5 Million For First Time Since 2020
Last week’s episode of WWE Smackdown saw the rating jump and the total audience hit 2.5 million for the first time in almost two years. Friday night’s show brought in a 0.63 rating in the 18 – 49 demographic and 2.535 million viewers, up 26% and 14.6% respectively from the previous week’s 0.50 demo rating and audience of 2.212 million.
The demo rating was the best number for the show since the January 21st episode had a 0.64, while the viewership was the highest since the Christmas Day, 2020 episode brought in 3.335 million viewers. It is important to note that the Christmas show has an NFL game as a lead-in which helped with the audience; discounting that show, the number was the highest since the March 20th, 2020 show had 2.569 million. Smackdown ranked #1 among all shows on TV for the night, beating out the season premiere of Shark Tank on ABC (0.48 demo rating, 3.792 million) for the top spot per Showbuzz Daily.
Smackdown is averaging a 0.519 demo rating and 2.142 million viewers in 2022 to date, compared to a 0.567 and 2.124 million viewers for the same time period in 2021.
