Kaitlyn Dever Joins The Last of Us Season Two As Abby
Kaitlyn Dever is heading to the postapocalypse, joining The Last of Us season two in a pivotal role. THR has confirmed that Dever (No One Will Save You) will play Abby in the second season of the hit HBO drama, which is expected to begin production in the spring and premiere next year.
Abby is a major character in the video game franchise, and is described for the show as follows:
Abby is a skilled soldier whose black-and-white view of the world is challenged as she seeks vengeance for those she loved.
“Our casting process for season two has been identical to season one: we look for world-class actors who embody the souls of the characters in the source material,” said Last Of Us showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. “Nothing matters more than talent, and we’re thrilled to have an acclaimed performer like Kaitlyn join Pedro [Pascal], Bella and the rest of our family.”
The Last Of Us earned 24 Emmy nominations for its first season and won eight of them in the Creative Arts categories that were handed out over the weekend including Nick Offerman and Storm Reid for Best Guest Actor and Actress.
