Netflix rankings for WWE Night of Champions have been revealed, with the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter providing an early look at the event’s international performance outside the United States.
According to the report, Night of Champions did not reach No. 1 in any country on its first day of availability, June 27. The event’s highest rankings came in Canada and the United Kingdom, where it finished No. 2. It ranked No. 3 in Egypt, Ireland, and Saudi Arabia itself. The report compared those results to Clash in Italy, which reached No. 1 in 23 countries during its release.
Night of Champions also remained on Netflix’s charts throughout the weekend. On Saturday, the event ranked No. 8 among TV shows and No. 10 overall on Netflix. On Sunday, it ranked No. 10 among television shows and No. 17 overall. For comparison, Clash in Italy ranked No. 6 among television shows and No. 8 overall on the same Sunday.
Across the full week, Night of Champions reached Netflix’s Top 10 in nine countries. The event ranked No. 4 in the United Kingdom, No. 5 in Canada, and No. 8 in Saudi Arabia. It also appeared in the Top 10 in Bulgaria, Egypt, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter also compared the event’s rankings with those of WWE RAW in countries where data was available. According to the report, Night of Champions ranked ahead of RAW in every market except Trinidad and Tobago, where RAW ranked No. 6 and Night of Champions ranked No. 10. In Sri Lanka, RAW ranked No. 9 while Night of Champions ranked No. 10. The report also noted that RAW did its “second-lowest numbers in history.”
Based on the rankings and previous RAW viewership figures, the newsletter estimated that more than 1.6 million people watched Night of Champions on Netflix outside the United States as of Sunday at midnight. The report added that the total was not expected to increase significantly.
The newsletter also reported that Google search activity for Night of Champions was down 12 percent compared to Clash in Italy and 10 percent compared to Backlash.
According to the report, Clash in Italy featured a “far stronger marquee card” with Roman Reigns vs. Jacob Fatu in Tribal Combat, Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther for the WWE Championship, and Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi II, which it cited in its comparison of the two events.
