More Details On AJ Lee’s Expected WWE Return

AJ Lee is expected to make her return to WWE TV, and a new report says the return is imminent. As reported, Lee’s return was heavily teased at the end of WWE Clash in Paris and during the post-show, with more teases hinted at on this week’s Raw. It had been noted that there have been a number of pitches internally for Lee and Fightful Select reports that she is planned to return to the ring at WrestlePalooza.

According to the report, WWE sources heavily implied (as you might expect from Raw) that Lee would be appearing or referenced on this week’s Smackdown. Bryan Alvarez reported that WWE is currently planning for the matches and Fightful Select was told that this is not necessarily a one-off appearance, with WWE hopeful that they can do more. Even if this is just a one-time return, the company is happy to have her back involved with the company again.

The report then goes on to say that several women on the WWE roster are very excited, including some who grew up watching Lee. One veteran who never got to work with Lee said they were shocked it happened as CM Punk would typically dismiss when he was joked to about it, though they felt it was more a matter of his being supportive of whatever Lee wanted.
