World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins was incredibly happy and all smiles during the WWE Crown Jewel Perth post-show, gloating after his victory over WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in the main event. Rollins finally defeated Rhodes to win the second annual Crown Jewel Championship at today’s premium live event. Seth Rollins reinforced his mission statement during the post-show: He plans to usher WWE into the future.
When asked by Peter Rosenberg if it felt like he finally got a monkey off his back by beating Rhodes, Rollins remarked, “It felt good. It felt very, very good.” He added on Rhodes, “Here’s somebody who went away, came back, felt like he was entitled to my spot. Felt like he was the self-appointed QB1. Like he’s the one who has brought all these fans, if you can call them that, to this building tonight. I have been here. I have never left. When after these idiots — [Fans chant for AJ Lee] Nobody wants her.”
Rollins continued to deride the fans during the post-show, noting he’s finally getting his well-deserved recognition. Rollins continued, “When half of these morons turned their back on this place and tried to tear it down, along with guys like CM Punk and Cody Rhodes, I was here! I carried the flag when it wasn’t cool to do it. I was the banner-waver when it wasn’t cool to do it. And now, here I am, finally, finally, after all this time, getting all the recognition I deserve.”
The leader of The Vision also shared his pride in fellow stablemate, Bronson Reed, who defeated The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, earlier in the night in a Street Fight. Rollins recounted how he saw something in Reed after he once hit him with six Tsunamis, and he’s very proud of Reed for pulling off the victory. The champion stated, “This is what The Vision is for, to take the future of this company and give it the pedestal it deserves.”
Former WWE Champion Big E also asked Rollins about how he’s feeling after hitting Rhodes with a rough-looking Coast 2 Coast during the match. Rollins explained how the move was part of how he was willing to win “by any means necessary.” He added on the high-risk move, noting he might see some “long-term ramifications” from executing it, “I saw an opportunity. I took it. It didn’t pay off, and honestly, there might be some long-term ramifications. But at the end of the day, I was going to lay it all on the line.” The champion explained, “I leave everything in that ring, no matter what. No matter what. Rough landing right there.”
When the post-show panel asked what’s next for the reigning World Heavyweight Champion, he spoke about his plan to usher the company into the future with The Vision. Rollins stated, “What’s next? I’m going to do exactly what I said I was going to do before WrestleMania for years, and years, and years. I said I’m going to help usher this company into the future, and I plan on doing that with Bron Breakker, with Bronson Reed, with The Oracle [Paul Heyman] because I am — [Responds to curses from the crowd] Bro! There are children here. Relax. What’s wrong with you? What is wrong with these people?”
The crowd started chanting “Shut the **** up,” to which Rollins got up out of his seat and responded, “It’s not about you!” He then motioned to the fans to come up to the stage, saying, “You want to come up here and do what I do?! There’s a reason you’re all out there, and I’m right here! It’s because it’s not about you! And the sooner you figure that out, the better off you’re going to be!” Rollins continued to yell at the fans while his music started playing, and Rosenberg got a dig in about Rollins’ favorite NFL team, the Chicago Bears, losing their last game.
