Nic Nemeth Reveals WWE’s Original Plans For His Participation In The Last Time Is Now Tournament

Former WWE Superstar Nic Nemeth (FKA Dolph Ziggler) made a shocking return to the global juggernaut this past Monday night at the iconic Madison Square Garden.

The former World Heavyweight Champion was revealed as Solo Sikoa’s mystery opponent in the first round of the ongoing The Last Time Is Now Tournament.

In a recent interaction with Jonathan Coachman on Off The Ropes, Nic Nemeth revealed that when WWE initially reached out to him for this one-off appearance, he was told that they would announce his participation in the tournament ahead of time. Nemeth thought it was a bad idea, but luckily for him and his fans, the company kept his participation a secret.

“A few weeks ago, when I was told, it’s like, ‘Hey, we’re gonna have you in this thing, and we’re gonna announce it ahead of time.’ They’re going to show brackets or something, and I go, ‘Oh my God, that’s such a bad idea.’ I go, ‘Is there any way we’re not doing this?’ They go, ‘There might be something they’re gonna put out today. It’ll be on social media. Maybe retweet or something.’ I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I hope this doesn’t happen,’ and nothing happened,” Nemeth revealed. [H/T: Fightful]

Despite a valiant performance, Nic Nemeth eventually lost to Solo Sikoa.
