Former WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes recently joined Mostly Sports With Mark Titus and Brandon Walker ahead of WWE Elimination Chamber 2026 event, Walker asked Cody Rhodes about working on Street Fighter as Guile, which also feature fellow WWE Superstar and rival, Roman Reigns, portraying Akuma. Rhodes reveals he never crossed paths with Reigns while working on the upcoming live-action feature.
When Walker asked who is the better actor between the two wrestlers, Rhodes commented, “You know what’s so funny? We never cross paths on set.” When Walker asked that we then wouldn’t find out the answer until we see the movie, Rhodes answered, “I will not. I won’t know.”
However, he did elaborate on seeing Reigns’ stunt training for the movie and how he did a “phenomenal job” with it. He explained, “I think he did a phenomenal job. I saw he was doing his stunt training cuz they were training us as if we were going into a real fight. 50 Cent was boxing every morning. He’s doing Balrog. Andrew Schultz, poor thing, was basically just learning how to fall cuz Dan [Hibkiki] gets punched a lot, and I was watching that.”
The former WWE Champion also shared his excitement for fans to see the new live-action reboot. He added, “They’ve done something special with that movie. I’m so excited for people to see it.”
Street Fighter stars Cody Rhodes as Guile and Roman Reigns as Akuma. NJPW star Hirooki Goto also appears in the movie as E. Honda. The Legendary Pictures Production, made in association with Capcom, releases from Paramount Pictures on October 16th, 2026.
