Steve Maclin has opened up about the injury scare he suffered at TNA Sacrifice last month.

On March 27, Maclin was scheduled to challenge Mike Santana for the TNA World Championship. However, the bout was abruptly called off after Maclin got knocked out by a Superkick from Santana. Later, TNA President Carlos Silva confirmed that Steve didn’t suffer a concussion and that he cleared all the medical tests.

On Instagram, Steve Maclin opened up about the incident, terming it “one of the scariest moments” of his career. The former TNA International Champion revealed that he initially tried to keep pushing and finish the match, but he ultimately chose to listen to trainer and producer Ace Steel’s advice. Maclin further revealed that he recently returned to the ring under the supervision of Steel.

Here’s what Steve Maclin wrote:

“TNA Sacrifice was one of the scariest moments of my career. My first instinct was to keep going, push through, and finish the match. Because that’s just who I am, how Marines are hardwired. But it only took one voice to protect me from myself. Ace looked at me, calm as ever, and said, ‘You’re done.’ No hesitation. No debate. I said, ‘Yes, sir.’ Sometimes you need that coach, that dad voice, someone you have the utmost respect for, to make the call you won’t make yourself. I got back in the ring today for the first time in 2 weeks under Ace’s supervision. I can’t thank you enough. You might have dropped me, but you CAN’T FU*KING KILL ME. #MACLIN.”
