The Miz has become one of the most senior members of the WWE locker room, and he recently reflected on becoming a learning resource for other talent. Miz has been part of the WWE main roster locker room for 20 years now, having made his first appearance on Smackdown in April of 2006.
While it’s been a long road, the WWE star has now become one of the most senior members of the locker room and a resource for many younger stars. He recently teamed with Kit Wilson for a match against Danhausen and his Minihausens at WWE Backlash. Miz spoke with Muscle & Fitness for a new interview and discussed his elder statesman status in WWE, his workout routine and more. You can see highlights below:
On Becoming the Veteran That Provides Guidance To Younger Talent:
“When I was coming up, I learned from the best. The best of the best; the John Cenas, the Randy Ortons. I got taught by Triple H and Shawn Michaels. Now, Cena’s retired, Shawn Michaels retired, Triple H doesn’t wrestle anymore, so I want to basically show the newer wrestlers what I learned from them.”
On How He Stays In Shape:
“I don’t like working out. A lot of people say they are always in the gym, but I have better things on my mind that I can think of doing. So, I’m always a big person as far as finding the tools you can utilize, that’ll allow you to be the best version of yourself.”
on Using Floss Bands Before Leg Workouts:
“It’s basically a rubber band, and you wrap it around your leg really tight, and then stretch… I do squats in them. And that gets my legs ready to go. I do flossing before and after my workouts, and I’ve found this has helped a lot with recovery, too.”
On Avoiding Injuries:
“I would always recommend cold plunges, you’re gonna need it, and maybe get into the sauna right after… That is the biggest recovery tool that I’ve been using, as a WWE superstar.”
