WWE reportedly disclosed the reason they are doing more house shows this summer during an internal meeting on Tuesday. As noted, the company announced earlier this month that they would be holding 10 live events across the US this summer. This is a change from recent years where the company has pretty much done away with non-televised live events outside of European tours, NXT and the holiday tour.

It had been reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the move was being done to get younger talent more reps in front of a crowd, and PWInsider reports (per F4W Online) that such was essentially confirmed at an internal “town hall” meeting.

The report notes that Triple H and Nick Khan explained that they’ve decided to increase the amount of house shows in order to let talent get more ring time, while also allowing them to experiment and try new things in the ring in front of crowds without a TV camera.

It was noted in the town hall that the shows would have a mix of younger talents and established main roster stars, with the two saying that they wanted to find the proper balance so that talent would not risk injuring themselves.

WWE kicks off their live event series on July 11 Las Cruces, New Mexico. It runs through August 30th in Charleston, South Carolina.
