As previously reported, AEW wrestler Buddy Matthews made a shocking surprise appearance at World Series Wrestling’s Rise Against event earlier this month. Now, he’s scheduled to work multiple events for the promotion later this year.
The announcement from WSW reads, “IT’S OFFICIAL … @snm_buddy shocked the wrestling world when he appeared at our #riseagainst tour. Buddy Matthews is BACK this October and November, and he is coming for all of the gold! 🇦🇺 🇳🇿 ”
It was also reported this month that Matthews is working toward getting cleared for an in-ring return. Matthews had been sidelined since February 2025 due to an ankle injury.
It’s currently unknown when Matthews will be making his official in-ring return, along with his AEW return, but it looks like he will be working in WSW later this fall. He’s currently set for the following dates:
* October 29 in Auckland, New Zealand
* October 30 in Brisbane, Australia
* October 31 in Adelaide, Australia
* November 1 in Melbourne, Australia
* November 2 in Sydney, Australia
