Veteran wrestler Mick Foley recently opened up about the possibility of coming out of retirement for one match.
Foley joined AEW at Double or Nothing 2026, and since then, some fans have been hoping for him to step into the squared circle for one more time.
During a recent conversation with Going Ringside, Mick Foley said that he’d be open to returning to the ring if the stars aligned. He admitted that he would have to be in really good shape for the match, as he doesn’t want to disappoint his fans.
When asked about his potential opponent, Foley was quick to point out former AEW World Champion Darby Allin. Foley notably shared a segment with Allin at Double or Nothing, where he gave the daredevil wrestler his flowers for his achievements in pro wrestling.
Here’s what Mick Foley said:
On potentially wrestling one more match
“I had this great 30-minute conversation with Ariel Helwani, and he asked me about the possibility of one more match. You never know; I did say if the stars were aligned, but we have to see how the stars align. I’d have to be in really good shape and feel like I could have a match that wouldn’t disappoint people.”
Foley picks Darby Allin as his potential opponent
“I pointed out to Darby that I am on record saying he would be a dream opponent. So you never know what the future may bring. I’m down a lot of weight, but my cardio is suspect at best, and I’d still have to lose another 30 pounds just to hit poor conditions. So we’ll see if there’s some changes in the next year.”
