Former WWE Champion Big E believes that Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods would have a ‘big chip on their shoulders’ once they return to in-ring competition following their departures from WWE.
The New Day shockingly exited WWE in early May 2026. Later, it was reported that Kofi and Woods were offered a restructured deal by TKO, which they rejected.
Though they have been doing conventions, their next wrestling move is still a mystery. The former WWE Superstars are set to become free agents soon.
During a recent appearance on Kayla Becker’s BZZR, Big E provided an update on his former stablemates. E revealed that Kofi and Woods are currently enjoying family time. However, according to him, they are by no means done and would end up returning to the ring with a chip on their shoulders.
Here’s what Big E said [quotes via Fightful]:
“They are doing well. They are kind of staying low and enjoying family time right now. I want them to be able to tell their story, but obviously we’ve had a lot of discussions lately about what’s next. I don’t expect those guys to be retiring. I think they have a lot more to show. We had a really impactful heel turn; the follow-up wasn’t what we envisioned it, but those guys have so much to offer. They are so talented. They are going to go out there, wherever they end up wrestling, with a big chip on their shoulders and something to prove. I’m excited for them. Those will always be my brothers. The bond that we built in many ways was much bigger than wrestling. Those guys are family and will always be part of my life.”
