Mark Briscoe is currently dealing with a legitimate injury after his match with MJF on AEW Dynamite, according to a new report. MJF defended the AEW World Championship against Briscoe on AEW Dynamite, a result of Team Briscoe defeating Team MJF in Death’s Door at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. MJF picked up the win before being challenged by Kenny Omega, who made the save for Briscoe during a post-match attack.
It was noted by the Conglomeration on AEW Collision last night that Briscoe was injured as a result of the match and could be out for a while. F4W Online’s Bryan Alvarez reports that Briscoe’s injury is legitimate and not a work.
Alvarez said that details are still not clear on the nature of Briscoe’s injury. Kyle O’Reilly said during the Collision promo, “Because of his injuries, we don’t know when we’re going to see Mark again.”
MJF is now set to face Kenny Omega on next week’s AEW Dynamite: Beach Break. Per the stipulation attached to the match, Omega will never again be able to challenge for the AEW World Championship if he loses to MJF.
