Sami Zayn Announces New Sami for Syria Donation Campaign For His Birthday

Sami Zayn is celebrating his birthday by way of a new donation campaign for his Sami For Syria charity efforts. The former Undisputed WWE Champion posted to Twitter on Sunday, his 42nd birthday to announce that he will match donations up to $20,000 today in his efforts to help get healthcare and medicine to Syrian residents who need it.0

Zayn says in the video:

“Hey everyone. It’s your old pal Sami Zayn, and today is my birthday. And as I have done for my birthday for many years now, I’m trying to raise as much money as possible for the Sami For Syria mobile clinics, which I operate through our friends SAMS, the Syrian American Medical Society.

“And those of you who don’t know what it is — for years now, we have operated these mobile clinics that operate on the ground in Syria to deliver primary healthcare to displaced Syrian residents or Syrian residents living in rural areas that otherwise have no access to healthcare. These mobile clinics come directly out to them and deliver, in some cases, life-saving medical care to them.

“So today is my birthday, trying to raise as much money as possible. Trying to raise actually about $40,000 to fund these two clinics from now to the end of the year. So for today, I am matching every dollar you donate up to $20,000.

“So please, today of all days, if you wanna give and donate generously, please do. Whether it’s because you wanna do something nice for my birthday — which I appreciate — or because maybe you feel a little bad that after all these years, and I finally won the WWE Championship, I lost it after only nine days. That’s fine too. Whether it’s out of wanting to do something nice or pity, that’s fine. Just give generously. I will match everything that you donate.”

Zayn lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to CM Punk on last Monday’s episode of Raw.
