The Ultimate Fighter 28: Heavy Hitters Episode FOUR
INTRODUCTION: Season 28 of the Ultimate Fighter is here. This season will feature women’s featherweights and men’s heavyweights divisions, and the coaches are current UFC Middleweight Champion Robert Whittaker battling against title contender and former middleweight The Ultimate Fighter 17 winner Kelvin Gastelum. LAST WEEK, Justin Frazier (10-2 MMA, 0-0 TUF) defeated Anderson Da Silva (3-0-1 MMA, 0-0 TUF) via unanimous decision. This week, Julija Stoliarenko (4-2-1 MMA, 0-0 TUF) vs. Marciea Allen (7-2 MMA, 0-0 TUF)

– Stoliarenko says that she is the first pro MMA fighter from Lithuania. Shepraisesher opponent (Allen) but says she’s not afraid of her. Whittaker feels Stoliarenko is the superior fighter on every level. I’ve heard that three times already this season, maybe he’ll be right this time. Whittaker drills takedown skills for Stoliarenko to solidify her technique. Back at the house, Allen discusses the issues she faced when she came out in the early 2000s. Her girlfriend is a looker. They are both life partners and business partners, as they own a fitness center together. Allen took a break from fighting to focus on the business and then returned to fighting. She feels she deserves to be here.

– Team Gastelum train and brings in some extra guest coaches, who are part of his regular team. Gastelum is awarded his BJJ black belt while they are there. Gastelum praises his coaches and hopes he can influence his team like his coaches influenced him.

– Team Whitaker gives his team the day off at the lake for paddle boarding and games. Stoliarenko loves it and the freedom of being out of the house. Meanwhile, Allen & Team Gastelum train. They drill ground escapes and specifically, arm bar escapes.

– Back at the house, the fighters hangout in the hot tub. We then get home video of Stoliarenko in Lithuania; it’s beautiful there. She visits her first gym and praises her coach for making her a complete fighter.

– Back at the house, Allen talks some shit to Stoliarenko. Stoliarenko feels Allen is making up for a lack of confidence. We see team Whittaker train and Leah Letson is frustrated with the training and the fact that she’s the only one on the team that speaks English, and that the coaches all speak Portuguese & Spanish all the time. She’s concerned that her strength and conditioning are suffering and she’s doing a lot of extra work at the house on her own. She contemplates switching teams.

– WEIGH-INS: Julija Stoliarenko (145) vs. Marciea Allen (145.5).

– We get the usual pre-fight warm-ups.

Julija Stoliarenko (4-2-1 MMA, 0-0 TUF) vs. Marciea Allen (7-2 MMA, 0-0 TUF): ROUND ONE: Stoliarenko was the first pick, while Allen was the last. Allen has the experience advantage, is 11-years older, but will enjoy a 7-inch reach advantage. They come out throwing, Stoliarenko shoots and looks for an arm bar early but Allen slips out and lays in strikes. Allen gets warned for grabbing the fence as she keeps landing from the top. Stoliarenko finally gets back to her feet and is bloodied up. She shoots and takes Allen down. Stoliarenko lays in body strikes from half guard. Allen keeps getting warned for toes in the cage as Stoliarenko gets mount and transitions for an arm bar and Allen taps. OFFICIAL DECISION: Julija Stoliarenko via RD1 submission

– Team Gastelum is out to a 3-1 lead, suffering their first loss.
