Tony Ferguson Claims He Will Beat Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov Before Moving Up to Welterweight

December 31, 2017 | Posted by Jeffrey Harris

Following Khabib Nurmagomedov’s successful return at UFC 219 last night, defeating Edson Barboza, UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson posted the following message on his Twitter and Instagram accounts.

In his message, Ferguson promised that he’d cut down Conor McGregor and drop Khabib Nurmagomedov, the respective UFC lightweight champion and one of the top contenders of the division, and even said he’s then move up to welterweight next. Currently, Ferguson doesn’t have his next fight or opponent lined up. His next likely fight would be against Nurmagomedov for the interim lightweight title, or a potential title unification bout for McGregor if McGregor does eventually return to MMA.

“Don’t Care If The @ufc Approves, I’ll Cut @TheNotoriousMMA … Drop @TeamKhabib & Move Up To Welterweight Either B4 Or After I’m Done w/ This Division & Rid It Of The Trash At The Top. Pollution Has Accumilated Over The Years, Time To Clean House #DefendOrVacate”
