Creed IV In the Works, Michael B. Jordan Will Direct Again

A fourth film in the Creed franchise is in the works, with Michael B. Jordan back to star and direct again. Deadline reports that producer Irwin Winkler revealed the news at their Contenders Film: Los Angeles event on Saturday. Jordan will be back to star as Adonis Creed and will direct, a role he fulfilled for the first time with Creed III.

“We are planning to do Creed IV right now,” Winkler said during a panel about the third film. “We have a really good story [and] a really good plot. We got a little delayed because of the strikes, but about a year from now we’re going into pre-production.”

Creed III released back in March and starred Jordan alongside Tessa Thompson and Jonathan Majors. It scored high marks with critics and grossed $275.3 million against a $75 million budget, the highest-grossing film in the Rocky and Creed franchises from a domestic standpoint and the second-highest worldwide behind Rocky IV’s $300.4 million.
