Katt Williams Reportedly Was Not Informed of Mandatory Court Date by His Managers
TMZ claims that the handlers for Katt Williams neglected to inform him about a scheduled court date ahead of his award win at the Emmys. Ultimately, that decision reportedly led to Williams getting arrested last weekend.
Per the report, Williams’ management team did not tell him he had a court date scheduled in Atlanta, Georgia at the same time Williams was flying to Los Angeles to attend the Emmys. Williams was nominated for his role in the hit show Atlanta and won the award.
However, sources close to the comedian are claiming that Williams would’ve gone to court over the award show if his team had bothered to impress upon him the significance of the scheduled court date. After Williams did not show up to the courtroom, a judge issued a warrant for his arrest.
Sources claim that Williams did not know about the warrant until he was arrested in Oregon for allegedly assaulting his driver. He’s currently in a Portland jail, and decisions have not yet been made on an extradition. The report states Williams feels as if he’s paying the price for his team neglecting to tell him about his court date, despite the alleged assault charge.
