Louis Leterrier Reportedly Replacing Justin Lin As Fast X Director
Universal has found its new director for Fast X, with Louis Leterrier reportedly stepping in for Justin Lin. As previously reported, Lin announced last week that he was stepping down from the latest Fast & Furious film. Variety now reports that Leterrier (The Incredible Hulk, The Transporter) is set to take over the helm of the film.
Leterrier reportedly beat out several candidates for the directing job and is Universal’s first choice for the spot. Schedules are still currently being figured out. In addition to Incredible Hulk and the first two Transporter films, he has directed the Clash of the Titans remake, 2005’s Unleashed starring Jet Li, and the Netflix series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance and Lupin.
Leterrier takes over what was intended to be the second-to-last film of the main Fast & Furious saga, though the report notes that there has been some consideration toward breaking the final film into two parts.
