Netflix Reportedly Discussing Wednesday Spin-Off For Uncle Fester

Netflix is reportedly in early discussions of a Wednesday spin-off focusing on Uncle Fester. Bloomberg reports that as the company gears up for the second season of Wednesday, they have begun discussing a spin-off that would focus on the Addams Family’s creepy uncle as played by Fred Armisen in the TV show.

Armisen played Fester in the seventh episode of Wednesday season one, coming in to give Jenna Ortega’s titular character advice on what sort of monster she was up against at Nevermore Academy.

The show is still in early conversations and there’s no guarantee that it would happen; a story would need to be worked out and contracts would need to be negotiated with the talent, who may have scheduling conflicts.

Wednesday is one of Netflix’s most popular shows ever, ranking at #2 all-time behind only Squid Game. The show garnered 252.1 million views for 1.718 billion minutes viewed in the first 90 days following its premiere in November of last year. Season two is set to begin production in April in Ireland.
