Title Revealed For Blumhouse’s The Exorcist Legacy Sequel

Blumhouse’s The Exorcist requel has an official title, as revealed at Cinema Con. Bloody Disgusting reports that the David Gordon Green-directed legacy sequel will be titled The Exorcist: Believer.

The new film is set to release on October 13th and stars Leslie Odom Jr., Ellen Burstyn, Ann Dowd, Lidya Jewett, Raphael Sbarge, Jennifer Nettles, and Olivia Marcum. The film is intended to launch a new trilogy in the franchise and will see Burstyn reprise her role as Chris MacNeil from the 1973 classic.

Odom is playing a father of a girl who is among several who begin to show signs of possession, with MacNeil stepping in to help the children. Deadline reports that the situation is personal for MacNeil, who tells one of the possessed girls, “we’ve met before.”
