Trailer For Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer Recreates the Atomic Bomb

Christopher Nolan returns to theaters with Oppenheimer in July, and the official trailer depicts the creation of the atomic bomb. Universal Pictures has released the trailer for the film, which debuted in front of Avatar: The Way of Water, and you can check out out below.

The trailer shows Cillian Murphy as the titular J. Robert Oppenheimer, the scientist who led the making of the atomic bomb in World War II, as he oversees the development of the project. We see bits of the bomb’s creation with a voiceover proclaiming “They won’t fear it until they understand it. And they won’t understand it until they’ve used it. Theory will take you only so far. I don’t know if we can be trusted with such a weapon, but I have no choice.”

The film is written and directed by Nolan and stars Murphy, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey, Jr., Matt Damon, Rami Malek, Florence Pugh, Benny Safdie, Michael Angarano, Josh Hartnett, and Kenneth Branagh. It arrives on July 1st, 2023.
