True Blood Revival No Longer Moving Forward At HBO

The planned revival of True Blood is officially dead at HBO. HBO and HBO Max content CEO Casey Bloys recently confirmed that the revivas, which had been reported in December of 2020, isn’t moving forward.

Boys said during the interview that HBO developed a few scripts for a potential revival, “but nothing that felt like it got there.” He also noted that reports of a Six Feet Under revival was never really in the works.

Alan Ball created the original series, based on Charlaine Harris’ The Southern Vampire Mysteries novels. The show was a massive hit for HBO and ran from 2008 to 2014. It starred Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgard, Joe Manganiello, Sam Trammel, Rutina Wesley, Ryan Kwanten, Nelsan Ellis, Jim Parrack, and Deborah Ann Woll.
