411’s WWE Table for 3: The Horsemen Report

-Original air date: April 27, 2016

-Obviously since this is table for 3, we are only getting 3 of the Horsemen, but at least it is three of the originals in Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, and Tully Blanchard.

-Flair starts (naturally) as he says he always sees AA and he had just seen Tully at an event. Arn talks about them being together for the first time in years and that they need JJ sitting here with them.

-Flair immediately brings up War Games and how they made the mistake of letting Hawk be the last one in the ring once and he broke JJ’s shoulder. Flair continues as he laughs about doing War Games for 42 straight days and Arn says 20 buckets of his blood was spilled across this country.

-Flair again as he talks about being cracked after those 42 days. They would use Vegas as their home base on the West Coast and take the jet back and forth between the cities. Ric was so far gone that he went to sleep in Arn’s bed and Arn says that wasn’t the only time Ric lost his mind.

-Arn wants to know what’s been up with Tully. He says that he watches RAW every Monday to follow along and for most of the last 20 years he has been traveling to prisons to talk to convicts. He has been out of wrestling for over 25 years yet anytime he goes somewhere he is recognized for being a Horseman. Flair says that deal is never going to get old and Arn says their goal was to see who could steal the show against The World Champion. The competition was between the 4 of them, and they were going to get paid what they were worth knowing they were competing against a stacked card.

-They mention Jimmy Garvin and Flair laughs about how he has no hair anymore. He mentions how himself, Garvin, and Hayes were the guys with the best hair and that he and Garvin have lost it. Ric blames his hair situation on being married 4 different times and bleaching it for years.

-Ric then goes back to talking about having to follow Arn/Tully and doing it with Sting and Koloff. It was always tough to follow them when they had to work with The Road Warriors because they had crazy chemistry together. Tully says that it wasn’t anything planned and Arn just happened to drop the “Horsemen” name in a promo and people got behind it.

-Ric brings up that now there is the 4 Horsewomen in NXT and that Rousey has her own version of the Horsewomen. Arn says they earned their spot and it wasn’t because they beat everyone. It was because they were there and they were ready to work. They never had any sick days and they didn’t have to be governed because they governed themselves. He puts over working with JJ and Ole Anderson. He says he knows they were all better than he was and he isn’t afraid to admit it because that is how you get better in this business. He thanks Flair and Tully for everything just in case this is the last time they get together in a situation like this.

-Tully says Arn was a joy to be around and talks about how great he was. Flair brings up that Arn never did cardio and yet he was a machine in the ring. The only 2 men he knows that don’t do cardio and can still go in the ring are Arn and HHH. Arn says he didn’t have to run them to death, but he could hold them down. Nice!

-Ric tells a great story about being at a fancy restaurant/hotel and how all they got was a couple sandwiches, spring waters, and diet cokes and the bill was $300. Ric laughs as he apologized to Arn for taking him there and even today Arn is still shaking his head as he says he wasn’t going to pay for it.

-Arn brings up the fact that Ric and Tully both have daughters in the business. They talk about Charlotte and Arn says he tried to stay away when she first started with the WWE because he didn’t want others to think he was giving her special treatment since he has known her his whole life. He then mentions he has a son in college, Brock, that is hinting around about wrestling. Arn says it may happen, but he has 4 years of college to finish first.

-Ric talks about how Arn went to NXT and told the crowd that Sasha Banks was the best in the world, and Charlotte told her dad what Uncle Arn had said. Ric laughs about the whole thing and Arn says that he is always on the ass of every 2nd and 3rd generation star more than anyone else because he sees the potential.

-Arn flips talk to WrestleMania this weekend. He talks about all the things that happen during the week and specifically mentions the Hall of Fame. He says that it changes the way you are perceived. He talks about being on that stage and looking out at all the people who are hanging on your every word as you go over your journey. They show a few highlights from the Horsemen induction back in Orlando.

-Tully talks about how he had his kids stand up and the crowd chanting “Horsemen” got to him. No matter the sport when you make the Hall of Fame you are the best in your chosen profession. Ric puts their Hall of Fame up there against any other sport and how it is amazing that 20,000 people are jammed in to celebrate. They mention that JJ had a ball at their HOF Ceremony and he was taking pictures with anyone and everyone. Arn says that JJ earned it just like they all did.

-Arn brings up how the schedule is different now and that he thinks it is keeping the kids from getting in ring shape. He thinks that is why there are more injuries as the kids aren’t working as much and the aren’t getting as used to bouncing around in that ring. Things are now built towards TV when they only had 1-2 hours of TV while working house show after house show.

-Arn is worried about who is going to pass things on to the newer generations after people like them are gone. Ric says he knows that Arn and Hayes will have jobs for life because of their passion and love for the business.

-They start to wrap things up and they all agree the greatest memories was traveling together as Horsemen. Tully thanks them both for being his friends. Arn says that you can’t find any 3 guys that got beat as much as they did and 30 years later are still talked about and respected.

-This was a weird one as Ric was rather subdued by his standards and Arn did a lot of the talking. That was quite refreshing as Ric always has a tendency of carrying conversations. This was obviously a blast to listen to and having this only run 20 minutes seems criminal.

-Next time we catch up with 3 WWE Legends.
