AEW Files New Trademark for the ‘Continental Cup’

Details have surfaced on a new trademark filing for All Elite Wrestling (h/t F4WOnline.com). On March 16, AEW filed a new trademark for the term “Continental Cup” with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO).
The USPTO filing is for entertainment services in the realm of pro wrestling. The filing featured the following description:
“Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services in the nature of live professional wrestling performances; Entertainment services in the nature of production of professional wrestling programs and events; Entertainment services, namely, production and distribution of ongoing television programs in the field of professional wrestling.”
It appears this could be a new tournament, possibly related to the Continental Title, currently held by Jon Moxley, or the Continental Classic. AEW typically holds the Continental Classic as a round robin tournament at the end of the year. Moxley won last year’s tournament, beating Kazuchika Okada in the finals to win the tournament and the belt.
At last Sunday’s AEW Revolution 2026. Jon Moxley defeated Konosuke Takeshita to retain the belt. After the match, a returning Will Ospreay came out to confront Jon Moxley, attacking the champion and fighting off the Death Riders before retreating through the crowd.
AEW has not yet announced the Continental Cup.
