AIW Results 5.26.18: Nick Gage Defends Absolute Title, More

– AIW held their Chandler Biggins Memorial Tag Team Tournament and JT Lightning Memorial Tournament shows on Saturday. The results are below, per PWInsider:

Chandler Biggins Memorial Tag Team Tournament

*In a battle of No Consequences members Tre Lamar and Chase Oliver beat Joshua Bishop and Garrison King.

*Jock Samson and Mance Warner #duke money beat The Philly Marino Experience.

*Weird World over Party Never Stops.

*Eddy Only and Danhausen of The Production beat The Carnies,

After intermission, Nick Gage defeated DR Daniel C Rockingham to successfully defend his Absolute Championship. Gage re-injured his elbow and would be unable to defend against Colt Cabana on the evening show.

*Tim Donst beat AJ Gray.

*Wes Barkley over Ryder Reed, TDK and Zach Thomas- This was Barkley’s and I believe everybody’s first match. Barkley sold a lot of tickets and his crew made for an interesting environment.

*Weird World captured the inaugural CBMTTT in a four way elimination match.

*Duke Money pinned No Consequences.

*Weird World pinned The Production.

*Weird World pinned Duke Money.

JT Lightning Memorial Tournament Night 2

*Matt Justice defeated Magnum CK, MJF and Gangrel. Justice pinned MJF. Justice was busted open pretty badly in this match

*Tracy Williams defeated Tom Lawlor, Dominic Garrini and Joshua Bishop when Williams tapped Bishop.

*Joey Janela defeated Jody Fleisch, Colin Delaney and Laredo Kid when Janela pinned Colin.

*Tre Lamar and Chase Oliver defeared the returning Besties in the World, Davey Vega and Matt Fitchett.

*The Production over PME, Little Guido and honorary Italian Big Moe

*After intermission, Louis Lyndon pinned Cheech in a six way that included Gringo Loco, Andrew Everett, Space Monkey and Nate Webb who did his complete entrance TWICE. This was nuts.

*Colt Cabana beat Mance Warner (subbing for Nick Gage.)

*Twins, Swoggle and PB Smooth defeated the absurd team of Dr. Daniel C. Rockingham and Ethan Page,

*Joey Janela over Tracy Williams and then Matthew Justice to win the JT LIT 2018 in a great main event. After the match, Tim Donst runs in, attacks Janela, destroys his trophy and challenges him for the intense title at Absolution.

That was a long weekend of 29 matches celebrating the lives of two incredibly important figures in Cleveland indy wrestling in the 21st century. Each show was totally different and enjoyable in their own way. 12 singles matches Friday night highlighting many different styles. An event featuring younger talent in the afternoon and the Saturday evening show that showcased the overall quality of a big AIW show. Great job by the entire organization.
