Andrade’s saga with WWE is reportedly at an end, and he can now sign wherever he wishes. As you know Andrade El Idolo has been in a sticky situation after being released from WWE in September. WWE was enforcing a 12-month no-compete clause after they released him with cause and he appeared on an episode of AEW Dynamite.

In the last week, Andrade has made appearances at House of Glory and NJPW. He is set to compete at Wrestle Kingdom 20. Fightful Select has confirmed that Andrade is free to sign anywhere he wishes to including AEW. It was noted that his WWE situation officially concluded on or around December 12th.

The site notes that Andrade was introduced by RUSH to an attorney who has worked with WWE for years. They were able to get the 12 month non-compete clause waived. The situation was said to have been handled “very professionally” at that point. Andrade was not paid since he was released, and an agreement was reached where he could sign elsewhere.

Andrade’s visa was effectively canceled when he was released from WWE, but he is said to be handling that matter and is in the US for now. AEW and Tony Khan have been positive about Andrade and believed he would be back. They wanted to make sure that, once the situation with the non-compete came into play, things were handled as smoothly as possible.
