Andrade was fired from WWE back in September and showed up in AEW on October 1, attacking Kenny Omega and joining the Don Callis Family. He hasn’t appeared on TV since and Fightful Select reports that his situation remains “very confusing.”

Andrade was set to wrestle for the WWC Universal Title in Puerto Rico this weekend, but while he is in Puerto Rico for the show, he is not wrestling his scheduled match, instead doing whatever else he can to honor the booking. This was a booking that was made prior to his legal situation with WWE started.

Reports about what exactly is going on with Andrade have been making the rounds, including WWE sending AEW a cease-and-desist letter about Andrade after AEW thought he didn’t have a non-compete clause and Andrade’s non-compete clause being up to one year long, due to a clause in WWE contracts where wrestlers have a one-year non-compete period if they are fired with cause or due to a breach in their contract.

Tony Khan didn’t offer much clarity about Andrade’s status when he was asked about the situation recently, and AEW reportedly had to change plans for AEW WrestleDream due to the Andrade situation.
