On the latest episode of The ARN Show, Arn Anderson talked about his first impressions of Chris Jericho upon his arrival in WCW in 1996. Jericho debuted in August of that year and quickly made an impact in the cruiserweight division.
Anderson recalled Jericho being eager to work and easy to deal with behind the scenes. You can check out some highlights below:
On His First Impression Of Jericho:
“Very charming, I would say. Very respectful. Gung ho. Offers ideas, very receptive to other people’s ideas. You know, he was chomping at the bit, and all he needed was to be turned loose. And you know the results now.”
On If He Saw Jericho As a Main Eventer:
“Well, you’ve got to go back and look at Ricky Morton prior to all this. He wasn’t a big guy. Anybody that doesn’t call him top-shelf talent don’t know what they’re talking about. So I wasn’t a guy that — you know. I wasn’t a monster myself. I was a normal-sized guy for that time in the business. And you didn’t have to look at a guy’s size to know his talent.”
On Scott Norton:
“Oh, he’s a monster. [Physically] solid as anybody I ever been in the ring with you. If he didn’t want you to budge him, you weren’t gonna budge him.”
