The Babes of Wrath (Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron) have sent a stern message to Athena and Mercedes Mone ahead of their AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship match at Worlds End.
Last night on AEW Holiday Bash, Athena and Mercedes joined forces with Megan Bayne and Marina Shafir to battle Toni Storm, Mina Shirakawa, and The Babes of Wrath.
The CEO picked up the victory for her team, as she pinned Willow after Athena took her out with the O-Face. Following their victory, the heel duo challenged the inaugural Women’s World Tag Team Champions to a title match at Worlds End, and it was made official shortly afterwards.
In exclusive backstage footage shared by AEW’s X handle, Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron touched upon their layered history with Mercedes and Athena and declared that they would gladly take on the heel duo at Worlds End.
“We’ve been champs for a week, and already Mercedes is up to this belt-collecting nonsense. Let’s think back; maybe two years ago, maybe even more, I beat each of you when nobody else could. So you can go around, you can bully other people into matches, and laugh in their faces and think you’re so big and tough. Don’t forget who you are messing with here, okay? So if you want, we’ll gladly take you on in Chicago,” Willow Nightingale said.
“And Athena, are you seriously that butthurt that we beat you or that I pinned you that you actually decided to team up with a woman you don’t even like, again, just for another chance? And Mercedes, remember when I begged you for a chance to be your tag team partner and you said, ‘No!’ Well, I guess we all make mistakes. See you at Worlds End,” Harley Cameron added.

Babes of Wrath defeated Mercedes Mone and Athena in the quarterfinals of the inaugural Women’s World Tag Team Tournament last month. The duo went on to secure the title at Dynamite: Winter Is Coming last week, defeating The Timeless Love Bombs in an evenly matched contest.
AEW Worlds End will emanate from the Now Arena in the Chicago suburb of Hoffman Estates in Illinois on December 27. You can check out the updated card HERE.
