What happened with Tessa Blanchard and MLW? As previously reported, Tessa Blanchard was mysteriously pulled from her scheduled MLW debut at Fightland set for later this weekend. Not long after the announcement, CMLL issued a statement, stating that Blanchard was only set to make one appearance for MLW and that “there is no deal between Tessa Blanchard, MLW, and CMLL besides this booking.”

A short time after that, Blanchard was removed from the MLW roster. The announcement of her MLW debut and all references to her were removed from MLW’s website. Earlier today, CMLL announced that Blanchard will be in action against STARDOM’s Starlight Kid at the CMLL show in Mexico City on (Sept. 12), the same day as her originally scheduled MLW debut.

A new report from PWInsider has more details on the matter. MLW didn’t respond to a request for comment on the matter from PWInsider, but it’s said the “general consensus making the rounds” is that the issue did not come from Blanchard, but rather CMLL. Blanchard is currently under contract to CMLL, who reportedly made the decision to pull her from the MLW show.

It’s still unknown why CMLL opted to pull Blanchard from the event, as MLW regularly works with CMLL talents and books them at their events. CMLL and MLW have also put on co-promoted events, some as recently as last year with CMLL vs. MLW and Azteca Lucha.
