Backstage News on Lucha Underground Talents Working GFW

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Johnny Mundo and Taya are expected in for these TV tapings, which will cover 12-weeks and take the company to Bound for Glory. What’s interesting is that they shouldn’t be allowed to work GFW TV based on their Lucha Underground contracts. Lucha Underground were previously set against their talents working TV for anyone else.

Lucha Underground isn’t talking about a new deal with Rey Mysterio Jr, with his contract being similar to the downside of the biggest stars in WWE; cutting ties would be a cost saving measure for them. As of a few weeks ago Lucha Underground writers were looking for new talent for a fourth season. But if there isn’t a fourth season, a ton of talent could become available on the free agent market, including: Penta 0M, Rey Fenix, Jack Evans, Jeff Cobb, Ricochet (who will be a free agent soon either way), Angelico, Drago, Joey Ryan, El Hijo del Fantasma, Mil Muertes, Shane Strickland, Ivelisse, Marty the Moth, Willie Mack, and more.
