Backstage Note on Triple H Not Heavily Changing WWE Booking Plans in Recent Months
– During today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer commented on Triple H’s booking of the WWE product heading into WrestleMania 39 this year. According to Meltzer, Triple H has not made many changes in the booking going back the last few months.
Meltzer noted that WWE has not been changing plans. He stated, “Almost everything that I’ve heard, in fact, everything that I’ve heard months back — there have been changes from months back, but I would say a month back, everything happened exactly the same [as planned].” This contrasts with WWE heading into WrestleMania 38 last year, when Vince McMahon was still in charge of the creative product as chairman and CEO. Meltzer noted that last year, “Every single week, there would be something tweaked in some way. Not big changes, but there’d be tweaked stuff. Now, there hasn’t been.”
How this might affect current plans heading into Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania 39 remains to be seen. Currently, Roman Reigns faces Sami Zayn in the main event at WWE Elimination Chamber this weekend. Cody Rhodes presumably goes on to face the winner at WrestleMania 39.
