As previously reported, recently crowned WWE World Tag Team Champion Dragon Lee challenged WWE Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio for the AAA Mega Championship in the main event at last weekend’s AAA Heroes Inmortales 2025. PWInsider Elite (via WrestlingInc.com) has an update on how WWE viewed Lee’s performance in a huge title matchup.
The main event matchup saw Mysterio defeat Lee to retain his AAA Mega Title. PWInsider Elite reports that the match received strong reviews backstage. Additionally, the report notes that WWE is eager to re-sign Lee to a new contract before his current deal expires.
Dragon Lee’s current WWE contract is reportedly due to expire later next year. Lee initially signed with WWE in December 2022.
Dragon Lee Scheduled for Another Huge Title Match Next Week
The 30-year-old wrestler won his first WWE title in December 2023, beating Dominik Mysterio to win the NXT North American Championship at NXT Deadline. He later lost the belt to Oba Femi the following month.
Dragon Lee later scored a huge win, winning his first WWE main roster title, with AJ Styles earlier this month. They beat The Judgement Day (Finn Balor and JD McDonagh) to win the WWE World Tag Team Titles.
Styles and Lee are currently scheduled to defend their titles against The Judgment Day in a rematch on next week’s Monday Night Raw. The show is scheduled for Monday, November 3 at the Rio Rancho Event Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
Next week’s WWE Raw airs live on Netflix starting at 8:00 pm EST.
