Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny is reportedly expected to return to WWE programming “sooner rather than later.”
As WWE embarks on the Road to WrestleMania 42, Bryan Alvarez spoke about Bad Bunny’s status for The Show of Shows on Wrestling Observer Live (h/t WrestlingNewsCo).
He said that Bad Bunny “is going to end up in WWE very soon. Sooner rather than later, everybody, just so you all know.”
Alvarez’s comment came in response to US Senator Ruben Gallego recently taking to X (FKA Twitter) to urge Tony Khan to bring in the musician. Gallego’s post came in the wake of anti-ICE chants on AEW Dynamite last Wednesday. Bad Bunny has notably been a vocal critic of ICE and recently spoke against them at the Grammy Awards.
.@TonyKhan it’s time for @AEW to solidify a huge fan base. @sanbenito love wrestling, need him to make some appearances. Just no stretcher match please.

Bad Bunny has been involved with WWE since 2021. He first competed for the company at WrestleMania 37, wrestling in a tag team match alongside Damian Priest, and then participated in the Men’s Royal Rumble the following year. Bunny made his singles debut at Backlash 2023 in Puerto Rico, where he defeated Priest in a highly entertaining Street Fight.
Notably, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque wished the musician good luck ahead of his performance at the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show which took place on Sunday.
Good luck tonight @sanbenito! #SuperBowlLX https://t.co/SjWfACwuY8
