The Pittsburgh Steelers’ head coach Mike Tomlin has stepped down, and AEW’s Britt Baker paid tribute to him after the news broke. As the New York Times reports, Tomlin announced that he is stepping down from his position as head coach after 19 seasons. Tomlin told the team on Tuesday.
Tomlin was, at the time of his stepping down, the NFL’s longest-tenured head coach and compiled a 193-114-2 regular-season record. The Steelers never had a losing record under him. The decision to step down comes after the team lost 30-6 in a wild card game to the Houston Texans on Sunday.
Baker has long been a vocal fan of the Steelers, and she posted to her Twitter account to share a photo of herself shaking hands with Tomlin. The post was captioned by a salute emoji, as you can see below.
Baker has not been seen on AEW TV since November of 2024. There is no word on when or if she may return to AEW television. She is reportedly signed with the promotion through late this year. Tony Khan said on the Ariel Helwani show in November:
“I’m just looking for the right time with Britt, and I’ve had a really good talk with Britt, who I really, really like.”
