Cook’s Lucha Libre AAA Review 9.26.26

We’re in Torreon! We’ve got a triple threat main event! Corey Graves runs down the card, and throws it to a video package covering Mr. Iguana’s recent history. Corey is joined by JBL on commentary.

Back in the ring, Taurus splashes Iguana in the corner, Iguana with a kick to Taurus. Taurus responds with a Meteora then a spear for two. Iguana rana gets two. Taurus powerbombs Iguana for two. Taurus has Yesca. He throws Yesca at Iguana, Iguana reverses a move into a bulldog for three!

Winner: Mr. Iguana (6:01 via pinfall)
Match Rating: **
Pretty basic match here to get Iguana a win.

Abismo Negro is here to beat up Mr. Iguana, which leads to El Fiscal intervening. Fiscal & Iguana celebrate.

We go back to TripleMania, where the Wagner Brothers won the Tag Team Championship from War Raiders. We’ll hear from the Wagner Brothers next!

The Wagners talk about how they got goosebumps from being able to win the title in the ring with their people and represent their previous generations. They will take it to the next level. Their fighting spirit comes from their parents, and they are proud to represent them in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. They will win it in their parents’ honor.

We see Los Americanos losing to Noam Dar & Romeo Moreno in their first round matchup on WWE NXT that I already reviewed and people got mad at me for not giving enough stars.

Texano Jr. vs. Dinamico: Texano powers Dinamico into the corner. Some back & forth. Texano with a shoulderblock, Texano misses a knee and gets sent outside. Crossbody to the outside by Dinamico. Crossbody in the ring gets two. Faceplant by Texano, then an elbowdrop. Chinlock by Texano. Texano hits a backbreaker, kicks Dinamico. High knee by Texano gets two. Elbow in the corner by Texano. Texano misses a charge, Dinamico gets a shining wizard for two. Cutter by Dinamico, he goes up top, frog splash misses, Texano hits a power bomb followed up by a sitout powerbomb for three.

Winner: Texano Jr. (5:18 via pinfall)
Match Rating: **1/4
Dinamico is definitely working himself into the position of a good hand that can put people over, which is smart. I thought Texano looked good here, he’s been a top player in AAA before, we’ll see what El Jefe thinks of him.

We see clips of El Grande Americano & Los Americanos visiting a children’s hospital, then we hear some comments from Grande. We see him walk with the people.

Next Week: El Grande Americano! Dorian Roldan has an announcement!

We’ll hear from La Catalina next!

La Catalina says that TripleMania was everything she dreamed of. All of Latin America was happy with her triumph, and thanks to AAA she was able to return to Raw. She gave it her all. Then she won at NXT. She wants everything in WWE. She’s working hard and wants everybody. La Catlina represents everybody, and she will see us soon.

Worlds Collide will come to YouTube this Wednesday!

Adelicious vs. La Hiedra vs. Lady Shani: Shani & Hiedra go at it early. Adelicious dives on them. Shani sent outside, she breaks up a pin attempt. Shani with an Edgeomatic on Hiedra. Adelicious dives onto both of her opponents on the outside. Adelicious with a series of moves on Hiedra. Shani & Adelicious go back & forth. Shani with the rocking horse, Hiedra breaks it up. Hiedra rocks Shani. Sitout powerbomb gets two on Adelicious. Adelicious ranas Hiedra, sling blade to Shani. Adelicious hits a bulldog to Hiedra, Shani breaks it up. Shani gets a nearfall on Adelicious. Hiedra breaks up a choke for a nearfall. Shani meets Adelicious, hits an Iconoclasm for two. Some roll throughs on Hiedra get two for Shani. Adelicious gets a nearfall on Shani, kicks her, misses a top rope move. Backstabber to Hiedra, Shani goes for a nearfall. Adelicious gets Michinoku Drivered for the three count!

Winner: La Hiedra (8:29 via pinfall)
Match Rating: **1/2
La Hiedra continues to be pushed on the down low. She’s obviously somebody that they have figured in for the future, and from everything I’ve seen of La Hiedra I approve. There might be some behind the scenes complications, but nothing I can confirm or deny.

La Hiedra celebrates as our event comes to an end. So long for now!

The 411

For a show that was in the can a month and a half ago, I was thoroughly entertained. They put over people that they might have plans for, even if nothing comes of plans for Iguana, Texano & Hiedra, I can understand what they were trying to do. If they hit on plans for one of them it's a job well done.
