Rights by Rey, and then a baseball slide into the ladder, which cranks Eddie in the face. Eddie grabs the briefcase, but Rey fights back. Rey rammed repeatedly off of the ladder, and then Eddie tries a sunset flip powerbomb, but it gets all messed up and they almost died. Eddie sets the ladder in front of Rey and gets a dropkick to it and Rey is down. Eddie slams Rey on the ladder, and then lays the other ladder on top of him. It’s a Rey sandwich. Tope by Eddie and we get our first “holy shit” chant of the evening. Rey in the corner and the ladder set in front of him again. Eddie sets up the other ladder and climbs. Rey sets the ladder on it and does the slow crawl up it, like Shelton only really slow and crawling. Rey BACKDROPS Eddie from the top of the ladder, onto the Ladder, and they fall and Rey falls on top of the other ladder and about kills himself! That did not look good. Rey sets up the ladder and climbs…but Eddie dropkicks him off. Eddie has a ladder and lays it on the top rope in the corner. Boots by Rey and charges Eddie, but Eddie flips him over and Rey EATS the ladder! Eddie sets up another ladder and climbs. Eddie is hurting and Dominic is in the ring. He tries to shake the ladder and Eddie sees him. They look at each other and Eddie comes down and yells at him! Eddie wants a hug and says Dominic should love him because he is his daddy! Rey is up and attacks Eddie. Backdrop to Eddie. Rey lays a ladder on the ropes and he rams Eddie face first. LADDER 619! Rey hits the drop of the dime on the ladder, sets the ladder up and climbs… Eddie is up and nails Rey. He has Rey…Electric chair try… nope, sunset bomb by Rey! Rey tries to climb again…Rey grabs the briefcase, and Eddie kicks out the ladder and Rey hangs from the briefcase. He falls and Eddie catches him in a POWERBOMB as he fell! Eddie sets the ladder on top of Rey and he is trapped! Eddie climbs…and yells at Rey. He grabs the case, but Rey fights and shakes the ladder and Eddie is hanging! Rey pulls him down by one leg and Eddie is pissed because Vicki Guerrero was late. Vicki Guerrero then gets involved, tries to talk her psycho husband down and when that fails shoves him off the ladder so that Rey could win. Rey Mysterio defeated Eddie Guerrero @ 20:30 [**½] Overall this is a disappointing load of overbooked WWE story bullshit that got in the way of two guys who should have been weaving magic in the ring. It’s Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero, give them a ladder, 20-minutes, and LEAVE THEM THE FUCK ALONE.
Chris Jericho vs. Dolph Ziggler: Jericho is coming into the match injured, with his ribs taped up. Vickie Guerrero is managing Ziggler here. Jericho chases Ziggler around and takes control, laying in chops. He lays the boots to Ziggler, but Ziggler attacks the ribs and takes control, working the ribs and working for near falls. Jericho manages to send Ziggler to the floor, and takes some time to celebrate. But he misses the springboard dropkick and crashes to the floor. Ziggler rolls him back in, covering for 2. Ziggler stays focused on attacking the ribs and yells at Jericho, telling him that he can’t hang with him. Ziggler keeps Jericho grounded, and every time Jericho tries to fire up and fight back, Ziggler attacks the ribs and shuts him down. Ziggler is staying one step ahead here, until he misses a corner splash, but just as Jericho fires up, Ziggler goes right back to the ribs. Ziggler hits the fameasser, covering for 2. Jericho goes for the walls, but Ziggler escapes; Jericho hits an enziguri for 2. Ziggler then applies the sleeper, Jericho fights but starts to fade. He fires up and slams Ziggler to the buckles. Chops follow, Jericho follows him up top and lays in strike and follows with a RANA off the ropes, but is too injured to follow up. He makes a delayed cover, but only gets 2. Ziggler then hits the DDT, but it only gets 2. Jericho hits the bulldog, but the lionsault eats knees and Ziggler hits the zigzag for a great near fall. Jericho hits a desperation code breaker, but Ziggler rolls to the floor. Jericho rolls him back in, Vickie grabs Jericho’s leg and Ziggler rolls him up for 2. Ziggler gets posted, Jericho locks in the walls and Ziggler has to tap. Chris Jericho defeated Dolph Ziggler @ 13:03 via submission [***¾] This was a very good, leaning towards great match. Ziggler had a great game plan, Jericho sold well and they had an amazingly hot crowd to play off of. This was a ton of fun!
D-Generation X vs. The Legacy (Rhodes & DiBiase): Triple H controlled with ease early, working over DiBiase until Cody tagged in and slapped HBK. HBK was coming off working as a short order cook, superkicking little girls and embracing poor customer service and only coming back because Legacy was trying to make a name off of kicking Tripe H’s ass. Cody did well for a bit, but HBK fought back and teased superkicks, causing Cody to powder to the floor. Legacy would cut off HBK, working double teams, quick tags and isolating HBK in their corner. Triple got the tag after a short heat on HBK, and DX cleared the ring including Triple H backdropping HBK onto Cody on the floor. DiBiase took the heat back, low blowing Triple H. Legacy then isolated the Game, working quick tags and double teams; simple and effective tag work. Just as Triple H fights back enough to look for a tag, DiBiase tags in and knocks HBK to the floor and continues controlling things. Triple H fights back, they trade strikes and he finally tosses DiBiase to the floor as the crowd got more and more into this. Cody and HBK tag in and the crowd goes nuts for HBK. HBK runs wild, playing the hits and kipping up; DiBiase cuts him off and Triple H pulls him to the floor. Cody up top now, but misses the elbow drop. HBK now drags himself to the corner and heads up top but Cody crotches him. Cody follows and they battle up top, HBK knocks him to the mat but the elbow drop eats knees for a near fall. Legacy takes control back, again countering DX’s finishers, but Triple H makes the save after a Cody cross Rhodes on HBK. Pedigree to Cody, but DiBiase hits Dream Street on HBK. Triple H takes DiBiase to the floor and tackles him over the announce table. Cody struggles to his feet, HBK pulls himself up and hits the desperation superkick for the win. D-Generation X defeated Ted Dibiase & Cody Rhodes @ 20:00 via pin [***¾] I was having flashbacks to the Spirit Squad BERRIAL when this was booked. The crowd was clearly here to see DX, and the reaction on their entrance was proof of that. Thankfully it transferred to Legacy, as they had more heat than they have had thus far in their careers. Thankfully we got a VERY good match here. The basic story was that Legacy was able to counter almost all of the “usual” spots from Triple H and HBK, and that allowed them to keep control and look dominant; the young lions giving the veterans all they had, but the long time teammates and friends overcame in the end. The match was booked the way it had to be booked, I personally would have liked to see Legacy go over here, but they looked good and I felt that this was a very good and fun match though, they had a great crowd, and the old lions pulled out the desperation win.
– End scene.
