– During the latest episode of The MMA Hour (via WrestlingInc.com), former UFC champion and longtime wrestling fan Daniel Cormier discussed CM Punk returning to WWE, comparing it to UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz making his UFC return in. Ortiz has had multiple falling outs with UFC and company head Dana White in the past.
Cormier stated on the situation, “Tito Ortiz coming back because right now, Tito Ortiz doesn’t really come around at all…There’s not much mention made of him. He was like one of the biggest stars in the early days… Probably like a Tito Ortiz type of guy, a guy that left on bad terms.”
CM Punk recently returned to WWE for the first time in nearly 10 years at last month’s WWE Survivor Series. Punk had previously returned to pro wrestling in 2021 after signing with AEW. However, he was fired by AEW in September due to a backstage incident that took place at AEW All In: London at Wembley Stadium on August 27.
