As we previously reported, Ring of Honor is going on hiatus after Final Battle 2021 in December and released all of their talent from their contracts. It was also noted that the company will continue with TV tapings, although it’s unknown how that will look at this time. In the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that the company will move forward by just running shows with whoever the top independent talent is on the nights they run shows and TV tapings. The downside to this is that they will not be able to prevent their wrestlers from going to WWE, AEW, Impact or elsewhere, which could potentially hurt future storylines or take away champions, as it would any other independent company.

It was also noted that Sinclair did not cancel television and they will be running with archival footage after Final Battle, leading up to the relaunch in April.
