Details On WWE Moving Up Kevin Owens’ Return And Plans For His Character
– During last night‘s episode of RAW, WWE aired a promo with Kevin Owens revealing that he was returning to WWE in one month, which means he will be back on television around March. This is actually up from his intended start date of April, according to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (via Ringside News).
He said: “Kevin was originally going to start back in April and based on the vignette when they said a month I guess that means March which means that he might get on WrestleMania, but you know maybe they’re going to bring in Earl Anthony to feud with him.”
Earl Anthony is a famous bowler, but that was likely a joke. However, the bowling segment wasn’t random and was apparently an attempt by WWE to move Owens’ character in a new direction. Meltzer added:
“The idea is he’s the anti Mr. Perfect. I guess the idea is that Kevin Owens is your everyday guy, you know like your next door neighbor who is a complete athletic clod.”
He also speculated that this may backfire, as fans may not want to see a nonathletic superstar.
