Details On Sting’s Match at AEW Revolution, How Much Input Sting Has
Sting will wrestle his final match at AEW Revolution in March, and last night’s Dynamite teased that it will be against the Young Bucks. The team came out after Sting and Darby Allin’s win and appeared to challenge them.
Fightful Select reports that the Icon had “a major say” in who his final opponents will be. Sting has said in the past that he didn’t want to wrestle a singles match and would prefer working tag matches. As far as the Bucks go, that is indeed the plan for Revolution as of a few weeks ago. Sting was said to be “on board”. The Bucks made their return after months away, with a new look that is part of a planned “shift in presentation” for them.
Tony Khan sees Sting’s retirement as very important and wants to make sure it’s done right. Whatever Sting wants for his last match and the build to it, AEW has been willing to do.
It was also noted that while Ric Flair got physical last night, he hasn’t been considered for any actual matches. He has pushed to do more things like he did last night, which included some chops and an eye poke.
