Earl Hebner Reportedly Leaves Impact Wrestling
Another referee is reportedly finished with Impact Wrestling. Earl Hebner, perhaps the best-known ref in pro wrestling history, is done with the company according to Pro Wrestling Sheet.
According to the site, Hebner left the company this week for the same reason that referees Robert King, Brian Stiffler and Hebner’s son Brian did. All four referees reportedly departed the company after being informed that the company would be using local referees while in Canada for Bound For Glory and the Impact tapings that will bring the company through the nest several months.
Previous reports suggested that Hebner was the only referee remaining under contract with Stiffler’s departure, so at the time being it would appear that Impact will have to rely on the local referees for now.
Hebner, who was the pre-eminent referee for WWE for many years, has been with TNA/Impact since 2006. He was inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame in 2015. No word on his future plans at this point.
