An injured AEW star was backstage at Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision, according to a new report. According to Fightful Select, Kyle Fletcher was in attendance backstage at Saturday’s show. The report notes that Fletcher is not yet close to a return yet and was simply visiting at the show. Fletcher lives in Illinois and the episode took place at the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria.
Fletcher suffered an injury during his match alongside Mark Davis against The Rascalz’ Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz on the March 29th episode of Collision. The injury forced Fletcher to relinquish the AEW TNT Championship, with Kevin Knight winning the title at AEW Dynasty.
Tony Khan said at the time that Fletcher was expected to be out of action for “months,” but is expected to return by the end of the year. There have been no updates on his recovery timeline since then.
Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision was headlined by Knight defending the TNT Championship against HOOK. Knight picked up the win in just over 12 minutes via the UFO Splash.
