Iconic Heroes of Wrestling Excellence and Veteran Non-Profit OSD Join Forces to Honor Southern Wrestling Hall of Fame Inductees
FORT WORTH, Texas (March 24, 2022) – Iconic Heroes of Wrestling Excellence (IHWE) is proud to announce an ongoing annual collaboration with award-winning international veteran non-profit OSD in which OSD will endorse selected Annual Inductees with Military background into the Southern Wrestling Hall of Fame (SWHOF). This collaboration will continue to honor & thank veterans of the United States Military Service.
OSD Executive Director, Glenn Banton, stated, “We’re honored to play a role in highlighting successes of post-military service for men and women in professional wrestling. David Farmer and IHWE have been immensely supportive of our organization and we’re thrilled to kick off this long-term partnership to lift up some amazing entertainers.”

The initial OSD endorsed inductees into the Southern Wrestling Hall of Fame include:
Stew Myrick – Class of 2021 Journalism
Myrick entered active duty in the US Army in June of 1986. He became a Russian linguist after a year of language school in Monterey, California and three months training at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo. Myrick was then stationed with the 25th Infantry Division, 125th Military Intelligence Battalion at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii from December 1987 to June 1990. He then continued to serve in the US Army Reserve with the 549th Military Intelligence Battalion until an honorable discharge in January 1994. After his time in the Army, Myrick began his 15 year tenure in Radio, where he is now one of the most notable sports broadcasters in Austin, Texas on 104.9 FM “The Horn”. Myrick began Sports Guys Talking Wrestling (SGTW) in 2016 and has welcomed numerous regional & global wrestling personalities onto the program. Additionally, Myrick covers The Super Bowl, World Series, NCAA March Madness, Formula 1 & Nascar for the Horn. Stew has also broadcasted numerous Professional Wrestling Events across Texas over the years.Dick Beyer aka The Destroyer – Class of 2022 Wrestling
Whether it was as “The Destroyer”, Dr X or Dick Beyer, this man brought joy to millions while wrestling around the world. Mr. Beyer served in the US Army Reserves from 1950-1958, up until the rank of Sergeant at Fort Drum where he trained soldiers and drove tanks. Beyer had his first professional Wrestling Match in 1954 beginning a career where Beyer held dozens of Global, National & Regional titles. These titles include the AWA World Championship, The All Asia Tag Team Championship in All Japan Pro Wrestling, NWA World Tag Team Championship, and World Wrestling Alliance Tag Team Championship. He was honored by the Cauliflower Alley Club with the Iron Mike Award & Stanley Weston Award by the publication Pro Wrestling Illustrated. In 1993, Beyer retired from Professional Wrestling, after which he spent years devoting time to humanitarian causes in the United States & Japan. Beyer was awarded the Order of the Rising Son from the Emperor of Japan in 2017. Beyer passed away on March 7th, 2019 at 88 years old.Founded in 2010 OSD through programs (Games to Grunts) and (76 Operators) and with the OSD initiative, OSD Provides support to our Veterans continually and is integral to the well being of our military veterans. OSD Originated developing a program to drop ship gaming care packages to active military. Over the Years the Initiative evolved. Games to Grunts was developed to continue gaming with downloads made available to Active military & veterans. 76 Operators an online gaming community where individuals can play online with Military veterans or anyone, individuals can share experiences & enjoy the community. OSD continues to work with Active & Veterans of the Military positively impacting over 2.5 million veterans & families of veterans since 2010.
