Katsuyori Shibata is currently out of action, as Tony Khan announced he isn’t medically cleared after his AEW Tailgate Brawl match with Daniel Garcia. In a new video posted to AEW’s Twitter account, Khan told Renee Paquette that the “brutal” match with Garcia, specifically making note of Garcia’s piledriver and curb stomp, that doctors will not clear Shibata to compete.
Khan said Shibata has been medically suspended as a result. There’s no word on when the Opps member, who is a co-holder of the AEW Trios Champions with Powerhouse Hobbs and Samoa Joe, will be back.
On behalf of 411, our best wishes to Shibata for a quick and full recovery.
